Artist's Description
I love to be at the beach, preferably in the waves! When I was a child, my family would have a hard time getting me out of the water. Body surfing is one of my favorite pastimes and when most people won't enter the water, I can't resist feeling the power of Lake Michigan and won't hesitate to get in to surf the waves! My hope is that, through my work, you can feel the power of the wind and the waves without being at the beach.
About Pamela Kirkham
The artist was born in Pennsylvania, but grew up in Michigan through age 18. She returned to Michigan 17 years ago, after living 15 years in Texas, 8 years in New Mexico, and 4 years in Oklahoma. She attended Kendall College of Art & Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Pamela graduated as an illustrator and pursued that career in Texas. In 1992, she started her own business, Kirkham Fine Arts. For the last 17 years, her focus has turned away from doing murals and illustration to creating healing, vivid, acrylic paintings that seek to free you from the struggles you face.
