Luna is the Latin word for moon. Luna Moths only live one week in their winged form, reminding us to make the most of our short time on earth, and to live and love to the fullest. They are drawn to the light as I believe our spirits are when we leave this world. Each painting in my series, Fight or Flight has motion that takes you up and out through the top of the work, away from your life struggles. Upward flying creatures that are thought to carry human souls to heaven in many cultures, also take you up, out, and back into your inner soul.

The artist was born in Pennsylvania, but grew up in Michigan through age 18. She returned to Michigan 17 years ago, after living 15 years in Texas, 8 years in New Mexico, and 4 years in Oklahoma. She attended Kendall College of Art & Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Pamela graduated as an illustrator and pursued that career in Texas. In 1992, she started her own business, Kirkham Fine Arts. For the last 17 years, her focus has turned away from doing murals and illustration to creating healing, vivid, acrylic paintings that seek to free you from the struggles you face.
