About Pamela Kirkham

Pamela Kirkham In 1992, Pam Kirkham started her own business, Kirkham Fine Arts. Through KFA, she has taught art to all ages from pre-school through college level, and has created works that enable the viewer to heal themselves from the inside out. For the last 16 years, her focus has turned away from doing murals and illustration to creating vivid, healing, acrylic paintings that seek to free you from the struggles of daily life, especially for those dealing with a serious illness. By meditating on her inspirational paintings, Pam wants you to escape from what troubles you. The Fight or Flight Series seeks to heal you as you view flying creatures that take you up and away from your struggles. Nature heals and she strives to connect you with it in a positive, spiritual way.

Accomplishments include having been chosen to be an ArtPrize Artist in both 2014 & 2015 in Grand Rapids, Michigan; chosen for the Oklahoma Arts Division’s Artist-in-Residence program; has been awarded 3 Art in Public Places commissioned murals; her work was exhibited at Swiss Art Expo in Zürich, Switzerland in 2019 and 2020; work will be exhibited in Barcelona, Spain in October, 2020; and she has received numerous awards across the United States. Her work is shown and in collections world-wide.

Curriculum Vitae

Pamela Kirkham graduated from Kendall College of Art & Design, Grand Rapids, Michigan. From a class, which originally numbered 150 students, she graduated as 1 of 12 worthy of graduating as illustrators in her class.

The artist has lived in and created murals in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Michigan, where she executed 20 murals in churches, businesses, and homes. Pamela’s designs for painting two, life-size, fiberglass bison were chosen by the Nature Conservancy in Oklahoma to be painted as part of a fundraiser to benefit the survival of Bison. One buffalo was commissioned by the Bank of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City and the other by the Harris Foundation, Oklahoma City.

She recently returned to Michigan where she currently is a full-time professional fine artist working in acrylics on canvas. Pecha Kucha means "chit, chat" and presentations are going on all over the world. It originated in Japan and was created to teach people how to make concise, effective, PowerPoint presentations on anything they are passionate about. Parameters for Pecha Kucha are 10 presenters, each showing 20 slides and speaking no more than 20 seconds on each slide. My presentation was about the new series, "Fight or Flight". Detail pictures from larger paintings were shown and it was a really fun night and very educational experience for me.
